PRABHUPADA: The first principle of demonism is to banish God. Yet your leaders do not see this sameness between their demonism and the communists' demonism. What reason do these rascals give for sending you to fight in Vietnam? DISCIPLE: They say they want to stop communism. PRABHUPADA: Yes. But now, more broadly, America has to stop demonism. Then your nation will be the real leader of the world. You understand your duty somewhat; you say, theoretically, "In God we trust." Now it is your business to actually trust in God and work for Him. As I have explained already, you cannot simply stop communism. You have to stop demonism. That is your real business. Communism is simply one form of demonism. So if you yourselves remain demons, what is the use of stopping just one form of demonism? more

On April 4th 1975, in Sri Dhama Mayapur Srila Prabhupada made a very unique and amazing request to his American disciples. I was seated perhaps 10 feet away from His Divine Grace when he said the following, and these words have haunted me ever since. Please read them carefully.
Rectify the Demonic Principle
excerpt from Lecture on Chaitanya-charitamrita Adi-Lila, Chapter 1 Text 11, Mayapur, April 4, 1975
So, this I request, especially my American disciples. America has good potentiality to save the world. So if you preach very nicely in your country–and not all of them will be interested, but if a section of men in your country, you can turn them to become Krishna conscious, it will be great benefit for the whole world.
But the aim is the same punar janma ajaya. To gain victory over this process of birth, death, disease and old age. This is not fiction. This is fact. People are not serious but you can teach your people.
Otherwise the whole human society is at risk. They are like animals. Especially this communist movement is very, very dangerous. They want to make everyone big animals. They are already animal, but the communists want to make them big animals. So, I am speaking to the Americans, because America is a little serious against this communistic movement, and it can be counteracted! Because the process is ocurring for a very very long time–DEVA vs ASURA, the fight between the demigods and the demons. So the same fight is going on in different name as communist and the capitalist. [Chuckles!] But the capitalists are also 80% to 90% demons, because they do not know the science of God. That is demonic principle.
So, there is good chance in your country to make them rectify their demonic principle, and THEN they will be VERY STRONGLY ABLE TO FIGHT with the other demons. If we become Deva... Deva means Vaishnava. Those who are devotees of Lord Vishnu, they are called Devas.
And those who are just the opposite number... the opposite number, they also worship some God. The demons, they often worship Lord Shiva, like Ravana, the example. We are not accusing unnecessarily. But Ravana was a great demon. He was worshipping Lord Shiva. Worshipping Lord Shiva means to get some material profit. By worshipping Lord Vishnu, material profit may come by the mercy of Lord Vishnu. That is not karma, but the Vaisnavas, they are not aspiring for material profit. The material profit automatically comes, but they do not desire profit. Material profit is not the aim of life; aim of life is how to satisfy Vishnu. The demons, they do not know that to become Vaishnava is the highest perfection of life.
So, anyway, our request is you are young men, you have taken to this path of Vaishnavism, and there is very good chance to preach this cult in your country. So even if you are not very successful in other countries, in your country, you will be very much successful. There is good potency, and try to make them stronger to fight with the demonic principles. Thank you very much!
So this is the true battle: DEVAS vs ASURAS. It is the permanent feature of this world. Two types of created beings: those who "know" the battle is between the "lower self and the higher self" and seek to win that battle by submitting to Krishna through his pure devotees — and then those who construct the battle lines as existing between the have's and the have nots — the cheaters and the cheated — with those who "have" falsely assuming their inherent "RIGHT" to the spoils merely by dint of their possessing the ferocity to take them!!
This is the material world!
We are locked in Mortal Combat at all times, first with our minds and senses, and then with those who would use our mind and senses AGAINST US — THE ATHEISTIC CLASS WHO ADORE THE DEMONIC PRINCIPLES!!
Letter to: Tamala Krishna

My dear Tamala Krishna,
Please accept my blessings. I am in due receipt of your letter dated December 9, 1976.
Your book distribution report is very encouraging. If I see our leaders are enthusiastic, that gives me more enthusiasm. Your suggestion to get new buses is good. I always recommended that. I don't like old vehicles. I think one hundred buses are not sufficient for America. You propose to induce the American people to surrender to Lord Caitanya by expansion of book distribution, that is wanted. When you come to that, that is success. Then you can take charge of the government. And, as soon as in America the Krishna conscious boys are in power the whole world will be changed. The idea is to bring under control all atheist class of men. There are two ways of bringing the opposition under control. One is by logic and philosophy, the other is by force. That was done by Bharata Maharaja when he was king of this planet.
Why the wife should be disturbed if she is living not in the association of her husband. When Chaitanya Mahaprabhu went to East Bengal for preaching, his first wife was alone. Wife's duty is not to disturb the husband. That is Vedic principle. The marriage relationship is not for sex. Of course, that is the way in this age. So, such wife may marry for the second time, what can be done? Vedic marriage is not for sex.
