Chinese firms bargain hunting in U.S.

"They don't want to miss this opportunity to bottom-fish in the U.S.," said Mei Xinyu, an economist at China's Ministry of Commerce, referring to the depressed asset prices in a sluggish American economy.

Flush with cash, many Chinese companies want to compete globally. Others feel they've hit a wall in the domestic market and need to go out to expand sales. And the Chinese government is urging them on by loosening previously cumbersome restrictions, in part to help Beijing reduce a lopsided trade balance with the U.S. and make the most of its massive foreign reserves.

Original vs Aftermarket
The historical perspective... Hansadutta das

The standard for human thought and action in every field, whether government, military and politics, health, mathematics, agriculture, astronomy, poetry, music, art, philosophy—practically every branch of knowledge and human endeavor—is the Vedas. Vedic culture, Vedic knowledge and Vedic religion are the foundation of human civilization, just looking at it from a historical perception. Every other religion is really only a fractional derivative of the original, pure religion. Like Buddha. He was a Vedic prince, and derived His outlook of the world from the Vedic perspective preserved and taught by brahmanas and brought up in a culture permeated with Vedic tradition, although he later rejected the authority of the Vedas. Buddhism is therefore a derivative of some sort from the Vedas. Like opium, morphine and heroine are all derivatives from poppy seeds. So the closer we get to the source, the more pure and potent. Vedic religon, culture and knowledge is the origin of all that has trickled down through the millenia in the form of art, music, poetry, politics, religion, etc. Actually, the origin exists still. Thus we can consider that these variant cultures and religions are aftermarket products. more

Next it will be the Chinese...

Talks in Singapore, 1993

Now America is putting its foot everywhere, expanding into Somalia, Angola and Yugoslavia. They're going to Haiti, telling off China. They want to lord it over everyone. Before, it was the British. Now it is the Americans. Next it will be the Chinese. They will put their men everywhere.

Human civilization began in the East, in India, with the Vedic civilization, and has moved westward ever since, like the sun rising in the East, and setting in the West. China is the westernmost frontier, the last frontier, and it will be the next great world power. After that, it will be India's turn again, full circle.

The history of the world is one nation lording it over the others. And when the people become dissatisfied with the leaders, because they see the leaders are exploiting, they make revolution and throw them out. This is perpetual. The living being wants to serve a perfect leader. That is his nature. We want—because we are by nature part of the perfect, God. So we want to give our service, our attention, our love and our energy to the perfect. Only God is perfect, and someone who knows, who realizes what is God can lead. The Vedic system was that there should be a class of men who are perfect, the brahmanas. They understand what is God. They understand that the aim of life is to get out of the cycle of birth and death and come back to Godhead. Such men are not allowed to take employment in anyone's service. They have to live by the grace of God, simply by teaching truth. The next class of men are those who administer, those who rule. But they are under the guidance of those who were perfect, the brahmanas. So the king is supposed to rule under their guidance. Although the king is powerful, he is supposed to be submissive to the brahmanas, and he can rule and utilize the resources of the land for the service of God. In this way, people were content, because the king was not ruling them for his personal aggrandizement, buf for their own welfare, like a father rules over this children. He chastizes them, and sometimes he gives them a hug. But now there is no such godly king... generally political leaders are godless. They don't actually have any understanding or any faith. Just officially they say, "Yes, I'm Christian" or "Buddhist," but they actually have no factual realization. Just for political expedience, diplomatically they say, "Yes, I believe in religion," or they ake a show of it. Like Clinton will go to the church. But the actual behavior is completely contrary to Chrisitian principles.
