Every grain of
sand and every breath is accounted for. The life span is measured in so
many breaths. When we use them up, our life will be finished. Therefore
yogis slow down their breathing in order to live longer. If we breathe
slower, we shall live longer; whereas if we breathe faster, then we
shall be using up our life faster. If we drive slowly, our car will
last longer; if we drive fast, the car will break down sooner. People
are shortening their life span by jogging. They think they will live
longer, but they will live a shorter time because they are exhausting
their measured number of breaths.
