Nothing left to chance

Pratyatosa das

How to know when it's over?
Submitted to Chakra, Dandavats and Sampradaya Sun on 6 Feb, 2009, in response to their publication of Bhakta das's email giving Gurukrpa's account of things, published by the Sun on Feb 4, 2009, and posted here at The Bhaktivedantas on 8 Feb

[In response to Gurukrpa: What Really Happened in 1977-78 :] According to http://harekrsna.com/sun/editorials/02-09/editorials3953.htm, "Silence means you agree," but I don't agree, and I expressed my disagreement in the following open letter to Bhakta Dasa Prabhu. I sent it 3 days ago to Chakra, Dandavats, and the Sampradaya Sun, but so far none of them have published it. Is this because all 3 of them have something to hide and/or all 3 of them are afraid of the truth?

Letter to Veda Guhya
"Make Your Own Field and Continue to be Rittvik" Hansadutta das

1. The system of rittvik initiations was an ongoing practice for years before Srila Prabhupada named eleven “Rittvik representatives of the Acharya” in his letter of July 9, 1977. Why would Srila Prabhupada make a special effort to write a letter appointing eleven of his senior disciples as “Rittvik representatives of the Acharya” when such rittvik initiations were already being performed on his behalf—not only by the persons named in his July 9th Letter but by sannyasis, GBCs, Temple Presidents, and others who happened to be at hand on the occasion of such initiation ceremonies?
2. Why did Srila Prabhupada decline the suggestion Of Tamal Krishna Goswami to include Brahmananda Swami on the rittvik list? He was a leading devotee and sannyasi.
3. Why did Srila Prabhupada not simply say “All sannyasis, GBCs, and Temple Presidents of ISKCON in good standing everywhere” could act as “Rittvik representatives of the Acharya” and initiate new disciples on his behalf whenever the need presented itself? more

Dear Bhakta Dasa Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP!

In reference to your article, "Gurukrpa: What Really Happened in 1977-78" (http://harekrsna.com/sun/editorials/02-09/editorials3931.htm), what was supposed to happen, as far as initiations go, after the departure of Srila Prabhupada? All the new bhaktas were supposed to just wait around for the appearance of the next link in the disciplic succession? This makes no sense.

IMHO, these devotees who think that the new bhaktas were supposed to just wait around for the coming of the next acharya are either simply not very intelligent or they are self motivated in the sense that they themselves want to be that link. "The ISKCON leaders are in maya and the ritviks are in maya. Therefore, I'm #1." Therefore, they are making Srila Prabhupada look irresponsible by saying that he left the system for future initiations "up in the air."

Srila Prabhupada operated ISKCON like a well oiled machine. Nothing was left to chance. Everything was always perfectly clear. He made everything perfectly clear in the July 9th letter and in the followup letters (Ritvik initiations henceforward).

Do you think that Hansadutta Prabhu doesn't know what he's talking about (http://pratyatosa.com/HansaduttaConfesses.htm)? Fat chance!!! Hansadutta is very intelligent, and he was made GBC AND one of only two BBT trustees by Srila Prabhupada! Obviously, Srila Prabhupada had a lot of faith and trust in him.

Your servant, Pratyatosa das (http://causelessmercy.com, http://pratyatosa.com, http://llbest.com)
