Hello Prabhu,
I have followed all the hoopla in relation to Kazakstan and the devotees there. The devotees themselves are nice enough. But the entire affair has been handled incorrectly from the git-go. From the way they secured the land up to the manner in which they are now "attacking" in public the authority of the goverment.
They have aligned themselves with worldwide Hinduism—A MISTAKE OF GARGANTUAN PROPORTIONS. I expressed as much to them. Heard nothing from them.
Aligning the Absolute Pure with its material counterpart – impersonal
voidist Hinduism – is a serious transgression. It is not using the thorn
to extract a thorn, as some might protest. It is despicable cheating.
We have LESS in common with Hindus than we do with sincere Christians
who accept the "Personality of Godhead" as evidenced by their
acceptance of the form of HIS son Jesus Christ.
Hinduism does not and refuses to CONFRONT evil in this world. They are
famous as unprincipled ASS KISSERS who do whatever possible to avoid
fighting!!
Vaishnavas are KILLERS EXTRAORDINAIRE!! Total opposite of the HINDU
pacifist.
NOTE that 6 houses are destroyed in Kazakstan, and ANY AND ALL EFFORTS
ARE MADE TO AROUSE THE "VICTIM MENTALITY", THE PUT-UPON "WOE IS US" FACE OF THE WORLDWIDE HINDU COMMUNITY who are being stirred up to express their indignation at this "travesty". But was or IS this "Hindu community" likewise outraged by the demonic destruction of an entire nation of people – SOULS ONLY – in Iraq over the last 15 years? Hell no! They could give two shits about that!! Not even two shits! Less than two shits. But as soon as a few houses are
destroyed, "Hey, call out the Hindus!" Now they're pissing on the wrong
parade!!
Srila Prabhuapda took on ALL RASCALS. He pointed all the demonic
principles and who was embracing them. He never sucked up and begged
the "Hindu community" to support us when the demons came at us. He
fought back intelligently.
When the devotees asked me to write my Embassy to condemn these actions
and to petition the OSCE to deny Kazakstan their desired seat as Chair
of the OSCE in 2009, I refused. Instead I composed a letter to the
President of Kazakstan, appealing to his common sense and his position,
without begging him for anything. I requested that they convey this
letter and its purpose to him in the hopes that he would recognize a
practical "retreat", allowing him gain at no one's expense and quelling
what could obviously be perceived as a "Hindu Attack" upon his nation,
spearheaded by the Hare Krishnas, no less!
Such intelligence is sorely lacking amongst the leaders.
Here is that letter:
Repected President Nazerbayev
Sir, If I may offer a few words in respect to the present circumstances threatening Kazakhstan's being granted the Chairman's post on OSCE. Many are using the recent actions of some Local Authorities in one small province of Kazakhstan - directed against a humble group of Hare Krishna Devotees - to ensure that Kazakhstan is denied this post. Certainly you are aware of the dilemma posed by some local upstart's actions in your nation's bid for this important position.
While others are doing their utmost to use this incident to further their own aims at perhaps denying Kazakhstan this important post, I would like to offer you a different angle of vision.
Sir, I believe that it is God Himself who has purposely orchestrated a near perfect scenario whereby you and your administration can effectively demonstrate that Kazakhstan is not merely a "supporting cast member" of the important work of the OSCE. It is seeking the chance to demonstrate leadership in this organization. Leadership, in this case, must commence at home.
It is said that it takes a very intelligent man to recognize a golden opportunity when it comes. I am writing to suggest that just such an opportunity has indeed arrived unsolicited upon your doorstep! Now, as the saying goes, Carpe Diem! Seize the moment! Seize the day!
Some ill-advised local authorities, bearing a real or imagined grudge against a small group of Hare Krishna devotees, recently demolished the homes of many of these humble citizens of Kazakhstan, whose only crime apparently has been to adopt a value system that on the surface appears different from the majority of your nation but in fact, if carefully studied, is a value system that represents the very best of that which the average God conscious Kazakhstani citizen claims to be the very foundation of their own lives.
On the basis of misconceptions and lies and perhaps a portion of greed as well, some local men, claiming to represent the Kazakhstan Central Goverment, elected to demolish the homes of some of these Kazakhstani citizens and lay claim to their property. Without citing legal authority to destroy or confiscate these citizen's property, these local miscreants, misrepresenting the true evolution of the Kazakh State, granted themselves the authority to essentially steal the property of the protected citizens of Kazakhstan. They then "claimed" that the State had authorized their actions. I believe that these men seriously misrepresented the honest reputation of the Federal Leadership of Kazakhstan. They also misrepresented your leadership, Sir.
However, as I said, I believe that this apparent setback to the tranquility of the local Hare Krishna Community necessarily tolerated by them is, in fact, a veritable Golden Moment that will allow you the very chance to prove the validity of your quest to lead from the post of Chairman the OSCE and its efforts to further the cause of freedom of conscience throughout the world.
Might I suggest that you take immediate action to reverse the ill effects set in motion by a small and perhaps ill-informed group of local leaders who thought they could gain politically or economically by confiscating the private property of a small group of humble Hare Krishnas in a rural area of your country. Were I in your position, I would not allow it to appear that I am responding to pressure from any outside group, i.e. Hindu organizations around the globe, etc and all the noise they are or will certainly make. Instead, as the trusted President of your country, might I suggest another approach – one that will maintain the dignity of the nation AND help to situate your nation as the leader she can be! Might I suggest that you immediately make it clear:
As I said, Mr President, were I in your shoes, I would be absolutely filled with glee. This tiny incident, now being portrayed by the worldwide Hindu Community – as one might naturally expect in such cases – is not your doing, but if seen for the opportunity that it is, can be used by you and your government to demonstrate to the entire world that Kazakhstan IS in fact a very valuable leader in the matter of freedom of conscience and the personal protection of the rights and property of her citizens.
In short - Don't let this incident concerning the Hare Krishnas cause you to lose the opportunity of leadership on the OSCE; instead let it ultimately assist you in assuming that important position of leadership! We have an expression in English (perhaps you are familiar with it): "One is wise if when given a basket of lemons he can turn them into a sweet lemonade!" Turn this situation, which inadvertantly has cast your leadership into question, into a "sweet lemonade" by showing the whole world what Kazakhstan can and will do if the liberty of even one of its protected citizens is threatened!
I pray that in saying all this very candidly, I have not offended you in anyway. It is only that I have personally met many of the devotees of Krishna from your country, and in truth, I was impressed in the extreme with their most wonderful spiritual and industrious qualities. I would love for you to also meet them and see for yourself that rather than being an undesirable element within your nation, they are in fact a most incredible example of the absolute best that the nation of Kazakhstan has to offer the world. I would like for the whole world to meet these men and women, most raised as pious Muslims who are now even more eager than ever to love God and serve His children. After meeting them, I am certain that you will be very proud to know them and to call them Kazakhstani brothers and sisters. They can make your whole nation proud. After meeting them I was convinced that the nation of Kazakhstan must be a very special place to produce such simple, jouyful and pious men and such chaste women. You would be suprised to know, Mr President, that the Hare Krishna devotees of Kazakhstan have a reputation amongst the worldwide community of devotees, as being some of the best and most serious devotees of God ANYWHERE in the world. When representatives of their now famous singers came to the United States, they created a sensation everywhere they went!! The people of America, saturated in consumerism etc, were notably affected by the simplicity and purity of the "Kazak" Hare Krishnas! They are not to be suppressed, Mr President. They are shining examples of the Best of Kazakhstan!! I am convinced that they will ultimately be viewed as respected "ambassadors" of Kazakhstan and humble representatives of peace and spiritual devotion to God.
The Koran recommends pure devotion to God. The citizens of Kazakhstan who have embraced the values of Hare Krishna have not sought to do other than perfect that which the Koran teaches us all: to love God and to utterly submit our minds and hearts to Him. Their seeking to do this together, as a community, can only benefit Kazakhstan in the long run. Your acting now, swiftly and expertly, will firmly establish you as a genuine and capable leader in these matters.
Seize the moment, Mr President!! Seize the Day!
With equal measure of respect and sincerity,
Your Humble Servant
Patrick Hedemark (AKA - Praghosa Das-NYC)
P.S. Sir, I would be delighted if some day in the future I could personally meet you and shake your hand in the company of the fine citizens of Kazakhstan who now delight in singing the sweet names of Hare Krishna!
